Dr. Meier is a board-certified family medicine physician with certificate of added qualification in sports medicine (CAQ). As a former performer, she understands the unique demands on performing artists to master and maintain their skill. This is compounded by the physical, mental and emotional load placed on touring artists and crews by constantly being on the road. Dr. Meier was inspired to pursue medicine after finding that many medical providers simply do not understand the nuances of caring for performing artists. She understands that artists will push through injury and illness when a show is on the line. Dr. Meier seeks to take care of health issues before they become a problem and safely navigates treatment to help artists continue doing what they love.

Dr. Meier has more than a decade of experience keeping performers safely on the stage. She has worked with OKC Ballet since 2014, serving as company medical director and started an in-house training room for physician visits. She is also a team physician for the University of Oklahoma and has worked with various professional and collegiate organizations in Oklahoma for both sports and performing arts.

As a physician specializing in performing artists, Dr. Meier has also regularly worked with many concert/Broadway tours, caring for artists and crews. After seeing how piecemeal care can be on tour, she became dedicated to improving care for the performer, especially those on tour with limited resources.

Dr. Meier founded TourMed in 2024 to serve as an accessible way for touring artists to stay healthy on the road and hopes to create a culture in the performing arts to surround performers with the types of medical teams that sports teams currently utilize.

Along with her colleagues in Oklahoma, Dr. Meier also founded the Oklahoma Performing Arts Collective (OPAC) in 2023. OPAC is a non-profit which seeks to improve collaboration between performing artists, performing arts educators, and medical specialists to learn from each other to better educate, support, and connect performers to the medical care they deserve.
